Savory Snacks and Delicious Desserts: My Top Five Favorite Disney Foods
For me, the delicious foods I get to enjoy at Disney are just as exciting as the rides.
I always try to eat at a new restaurant every time I travel, because there are always so many new things popping up. However, after all of the meals and snacks I have indulged in, there are quite a few that stick out in my mind. Today, I have decided to share with you my top five favorite things I have eaten in Walt Disney World.
#5: Anything at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe in Magic Kingdom
Located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom Park, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe is an Old West Saloon-themed quick-service restaurant that offers delicious food for guests to enjoy. I have dined here multiple times throughout my trips to Disney, and everything I have had here is delicious! This is why I can’t pick one thing off the menu. I have tried the tacos, the nachos, and the fajita platter and all of them were amazing!
Although the meals are great on their own, the best part about eating at Pecos Bill is the topping bar. Previously, the topping bar at Pecos Bill was self serve, giving you the opportunity to customize your meal to your liking, all included in the price of your meal. From guacamole to cheese, three types of salsa, and different vegetables, the topping bar makes this quick-service a “Can’t-Miss” meal for my family and I when we travel to Disney! Currently, the toppings bar is temporarily closed, yet you can ask a Cast Members for the toppings that you’re seeking to complete your meal.
#4: Donut from Joffrey’s Coffee Cart in Epcot
This donut was very much an impulse grab. Walking past the Joffrey’s Coffee Cart located at the World Showcase entrance in Epcot, this caught my eye simply because it is the most perfect looking donut. This donut is huge, covered in bright pink icing and sprinkles, so it is a great snack to share with someone. My husband and I shared this donut, and from the first bite, we were both surprised by how delicious it was! The donut was so simple and fluffy, and the icing gave it the perfect amount of sweetness. We loved this donut so much that we ended up buying another one later in our trip!
#3: Mezzo Metro Pepperoni Pizza from Via Napoli in Epcot
Via Napoli, located in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion, is a table-service restaurant featuring authentic Italian cuisine. Via Napoli serves delicious portions of pasta, salads, and desserts, but the pizza is my favorite thing on the menu! With beautiful wood-burning ovens on the back wall of the restaurant, Via Napoli serves authentic Neapolitan-style pizza.
The crust is thin and crispy, and the pairing of the fresh sauce and the pepperoni gives this pizza a delicious salty and sweet contrast. You can get the pizzas in individual, large, or Mezzo Metro (half a meter), but my family always opts for the Mezzo Metro because the only thing better than pizza is more pizza.
#2: Peter Pan Float from Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom
Located in Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom Park, next to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Storybook Treats offers ice cream treats and tasty floats for guests to enjoy. Although it is no longer listed on the menu, the Peter Pan Float was a specialty float offered from Storybook Treats. This float consisted of Key Lime Soft Serve and Sprite topped with a chocolate feather in a cute homage to Peter Pan himself. This simple little float was such a wonderful surprise. It was so refreshing on a hot day, and the key lime soft serve was a delicious bitter-sweet pairing to the Sprite. This was a wonderful twist on a classic float, and I’m always excited to see what sweet treat they’ll feature in the future!

#1: Indian-Style Bread Service from Sanaa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
Sanaa, located a Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, offers African cooking with Indian flavors. Sanaa sits right on the Savanna, giving guests the opportunity to see some animals while dining!
Now, onto the Bread Service. This appetizer is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. It offers the choice of five breads and comes with nine accompaniments. The breads you can choose from are; Traditional Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kulcha, or Paneer Paratha. I always choose the traditional and spiced naan, simply because I prefer the subtle flavors to enhance the accompaniments. The naan is slightly crispy on the outside while being soft and warm on the inside.
The nine accompaniments that come with the bread service are; Cucumber Raita, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Mango Chutney, Tomato-Date Jam, Tamarind Chutney, Coriander Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Red Chile Sambal, or Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle. Each one of these is delicious, offering vastly different flavors and textures. However, my favorites are the Cucumber Raita, the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and the Tomato-Date Jam. The Cucumber Raita is fresh and creamy, which pairs so well with the Spicy Naan. The Roasted Red Pepper Hummus is a classic. The peppers add a smokiness and sweetness to the garlicky smooth hummus. The Tomato-Date Jam is simple and sweet. This appetizer is an amazing option to share with friends or family, and it really gives you the perfect sample of the incredible meals yet to come.
I realize some of my choices may be controversial, considering a lot of classic Disney foods did not make the cut. However, these are my favorites that I always get and always suggest to people.
Did your favorites make it onto the list? If not, what is your can’t miss snack?
