Disney’s Bay Lake Tower: A Great Place to Stay!
Are you considering Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for your next Walt Disney World stay?
Being within walking distance to Magic Kingdom, this resort provides convenience alongside its beautiful, contemporary decor and amenities for the whole family. Another great feature of this resort is that it is attached to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, so you get to utilize the amenities of two resorts in one stay! For today’s blog, I thought I would provide you an overview of the resort to help you decide if Bay Lake Tower is right for your next trip!
Rooms
This modern resort offers both elegance and luxury, balanced with Disney decor. The warm tones in the room, matched with the beautiful Disney prints, align perfectly with the contemporary feel of the resort!
Bay Lake Tower offers Studios, One Bedrooms, Two Bedrooms, and Three Bedroom Grand Villas for guests to choose from. This means there are rooms for most party sizes. The Studios are perfect for a small family, offering a queen bed, a pullout couch, and a kitchenette. The One Bedrooms and Two Bedrooms both offer full kitchens and in-suite laundry, making your stay super convenient with everything you need right in your room.
However, my favorite room has to be the Grand Villas. This spacious two-floor villa offers sleeping space for 12 guests throughout three bedrooms and tons of living space, along with in-suite laundry and a full kitchen. This extravagant room is luxury at its finest!
The Studios, One Bedrooms, and Two Bedrooms at Bay Lake Tower offer three different view types: Standard View, Lake View, and Theme Park View, while the Grand Villa offers both Lake View and Theme Park View options. This conveniently gives guests different price points to choose from when booking a room.
Dining
From signature dining to buffets and quick services, Bay Lake Tower offers many dining options, and most of them are just a quick stroll across the Skybridge from the Bay Lake Tower building to the Contemporary Resort building!
For quick and easy options, the Contempo Café offers delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On top of easy-grab snacks and drinks, Contempo Café has sandwich and salad options for lunch and dinner, along with classic Disney breakfasts for a quick bite to eat before hitting the parks!
There are also table service options: Chef Mickey’s and The Wave… of American Flavors. Chef Mickey’s is usually a buffet with character meet and greets. However, Chef Mickey’s is currently running as a family-style dining restaurant, where plates of food are brought to your table, and you are able to ask for more of anything you love. Chef Mickey’s breakfast is my favorite, as it serves all of your breakfast favorites alongside delicious extra special treats, like banana bread French toast, and a delicious cheesy potato casserole.
The Wave… of American Flavors is a table service restaurant that showcases delicious modern American cuisine inspired by local and regional ingredients for all three meals. Breakfast offers breakfast classics with a delicious twist. The Floridian Eggs Benedict is not to be missed, using crab cakes instead of bacon on this twist of a classic egg’s benedict. Currently, the Wave is undergoing refurbishment, yet guests are able to enjoy the Wave’s breakfast menu being served at the California Grill.
Speaking of the California Grill, it’s the Signature Dining option available at this resort for guests to indulge in. This award-winning restaurant offers gourmet dining with fresh and seasonal ingredients, showing international influences in their dishes. California Grill is currently open for dinner, and the dinner options are delectable! The sushi is a can’t miss, and the wood-fired pizza is delicious! The entrees have many different options, from beef to scallops to plant-based pasta. This restaurant is the perfect option for guests looking to indulge in a delicious and elegant meal!
Along with these restaurants, Bay Lake Tower also offers multiple lounges, a coffee bar, and two poolside bars for guests to grab delicious drinks and snacks throughout the resort!
Transportation
Bay Lake Tower offers multiple transportation options, making traveling around Walt Disney World so convenient! As mentioned in the beginning, guests can access Magic Kingdom by a walking path. This path does cross a road (with traffic lights and a cross-walk) and only takes about 5 minutes, depending on your walking pace. This path allows you to be immersed in the magic as quickly as possible!
If the walk to Magic Kingdom is a bit too long for the little ones in your party, or just difficult at the end of a long day at the parks, you can also take the monorail to and from Magic Kingdom, as well as the other resorts around Seven Seas Lagoon.
For access to all other parks and Disney Springs, buses are offered for guests to use.
Recreation and Amenities
At Bay Lake Tower, guests can relax by Bay Cove Pool. This zero-depth entry pool offers beautiful views of Bay Lake as well as a 148-foot waterslide for guests of all ages to enjoy. As well, there is a water play area for little ones to splash around in! This is a great place to relax on a resort day.
Along with Bay Cove Pool, Disney’s Contemporary Resort offers two pools for guests to use! The main feature pool offers a 17-foot-high, curving waterslide alongside fountains and waterspouts in a water play area. If you are looking for something a bit quieter, the Bay Lake Leisure Pool offers quiet relaxation for soaking up the sun and floating on the water. With the choice of three pools, you’re sure to find the perfect spot!
Similar to other DVC resorts, Disney’s Bay Lake Tower offers sports courts for guests to use! Bay Lake Tower offers guests a basketball court, a tennis court, and a volleyball court to use. Complimentary equipment is available from the Community Hall for all guests, so you don’t need to worry about traveling with your racquets or balls!
Bay Lake Tower also offers a jogging path that takes you all the way around the resort. This is a great way to take in the views of the grounds!
The resort has Movies Under the Stars, which is such a fun way to watch a classic Disney movie! Definitely worth checking with the resort about what movies are being offered during your stay.
The Community Hall at Bay Lake Tower not only provides the sports gear for the courts but also offers complimentary billiards, ping-pong, board games, and much more for guests to use. As well, there are a bunch of outdoor games to enjoy. This is a great place to entertain yourself on a day at the resort!
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is such a great place to stay and relax! With beautiful rooms and incredible recreation options, this resort is not to be missed. Not only are the views from the resort picture-perfect, but the location cannot be beat! Whether you call Bay Lake Tower home or are planning your first stay, I think this resort is perfect for everyone!
