Christmas in July: Why You Should Book your DVCR Holiday Getaway Now!

As an avid Christmas fiend, I will jump at any opportunity to talk about this festive Holiday season. I love all the pretty lights, baking holiday treats, the quality time with family and friends, and the joy this time of year brings. Plus, I can get all cozy with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a Christmas Movie any time I want during this festive season. However, the top of my bucket list is spending this jolly holiday in one of the most magical places: Walt Disney World! And with the holidays fast approaching, now is the time to get your tacky sweaters and festive ears ready and book your next DVC vacation!

The holiday season at Walt Disney World is one of the most exciting times to visit the parks. With all the different festivals and events happening throughout the season, there is so much to see and do with something for everyone! At some of the DVC resorts, guests can find many different Gingerbread creations, an annual tradition that’s a fan favorite. At Disney’s Grand Floridian Villas, guests can see a larger-than-life gingerbread house, complete with snow, holiday décor, and even a mini Santa Claus. You can also see other custom gingerbread creations at other DVC resorts, including Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas. The resorts are also decked to the nines, with some magnificent Christmas Trees and gorgeous decorations that match each DVC resort’s unique theme.

At Epcot, guests can also take part in the International Festival of the Holidays, where guests can taste new festive food offerings from the World Showcase, along with the Candlelight Processional with an array of different celebrity guests. You can also find Holiday Storytellers in each country in the World Showcase, who share traditions and holiday tales from their country. There’s also a variety of different Holiday performances around the park, as well as holiday décor that may make its way into some of your favorite attractions.

In Hollywood Studio, head on over to Sunset Boulevard for an amazing projection show, consisting of scenes from some favorite animated holiday classics like Mickey’s Christmas Carol, the Muppets, and more! There’s also some great holiday décor, dining, and more festivities guests can enjoy.

At Animal Kingdom, Disney has enhanced the holiday offerings over recent years, including the Merry Menagerie! These artisan-sculpted puppets, including reindeer, polar bears, penguins, and more, are surely a sight to see. There are also projections on the Tree of Life that will amaze guests in the evening, along with decorations in every part of Animal Kingdom.

At Magic Kingdom, this is where the holiday magic is most prominent; along with the gorgeous décor, guests can attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party after the park closes. This ticketed event even features the ultimate Christmas celebration, including parades, a special fireworks display, and festive overlays of some of our favorite rides and attractions. Specifically, Jungle Cruise transforms into “Jingle Cruise,” where the boats receive Christmas-inspired names, and the skippers give an extra-festive spiel for your enjoyment.

Now that we’ve covered some of the Holiday festivities offered at Walt Disney World, it’s time for us at David’s Vacation Club Rentals to encourage you to book your Holiday stay as soon as possible! As December is now within seven months, availability can fill up extra quickly. If your ideal dates are not available through our normal points rental process, then our Confirmed Reservations page is the next place to check!

Our confirmed Reservations page is full of reservations that DVC owners have made for their personal use but can now no longer attend. All these reservations are sold as-is, so while the dates, room types, and resorts are set and cannot be changed, this is a great place for those last-minute reservations, especially if your dates are flexible. Sometimes, the stays are also further discounted as well. If the reservation or dates you want aren’t on our confirmed reservations page, then you can sign up for email notifications! Guests can receive an alert for any new reservations that are added that match the general dates and resorts they may be looking for.
