Frightfully Fun Entertainment at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

With spooky season in full swing, I can’t help but think back to all the great Halloween entertainment that can be found at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Along with all the rides and character meet-and-greets, there are three attractions that guests can see at this party that are sure to send some exciting chills down your spine this Halloween season.

The words “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!” are projected in white light onto the grey stone bricks of a building façade in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom.

Firstly, in true Magic Kingdom fashion, guests can watch Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade during the party. This spooky spectacular is one of the best parades that is offered at Walt Disney World, as told to me by a few partygoers who were sitting next to me while we were waiting for the parade to start. I have to say, I cannot help but agree; this parade is full of fan-favorite Disney characters donning some classic Halloween garb. You can see everyone from Mickey, looking dapper as ever, to Minnie Mouse and her friends Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow dressed as the sinister Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus.

Looking toward Cinderella Castle down Main Street U.S.A. at night with a parade float displaying a sign reading “Mickey’s Boo-to-You! Halloween Parade”. There are Cast Members in green cloaks on either side of the float and crowds on each side of Main Street. Characters Tigger and Winnie the Pooh are seen near the parade float, and Cinderella Castle is illuminated blue in the background.

A parade float featuring Mickey Mouse as a vampire and Donald Duck as a superhero. At the top of the float, Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, and Clarabelle Cow are dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus.

You’ll also see some more rare character sightings during this scarily amazing parade. Firstly, to usher in the Halloween Festivities, guests can watch the Headless Horseman trot down Main Street, U.S.A. This is definitely a very special sighting, so if you’re attending the party, make sure to make time to see it! Guests can also see some spooky celestial sightings take over the parade, as some waltzing spirits, hitchhiking ghosts, and the gorgeous bride from the Haunted Mansion make some supernatural appearances. To end the parade, guests can also see an assortment of classic Disney Villains run amuck and dance to the beat of their own drum. This parade is so much fun, and the “Boo-To-You” song is forever stuck in my head.

The Headless Horseman holds a glowing jack-o’-lantern as he rides down the parade route at Magic Kingdom at night. Cinderella Castle is lit up blue in the background, while red lighting effects light up the crowds along the sides of the parade pathway.

The Bride dressed in a white glowing gown from Haunted Mansion leads the way down the parade route with the ghostly dancers and hitchhiking ghosts following behind her down Main Street U.S.A.

Maleficent in her black, purple, and green costume performs on a parade float designed to look like a stone castle turret during Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade.

Next up, it’s time to make our way to Cinderella Castle to view a spook-tacular fireworks display. Disney is known for its fireworks shows, and Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular show during the party is so fun and full of amazing displays. Your host, Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, tells the tale of Mickey and friends’ adventures into a mysterious haunted house, where they stumble across dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts, and a creepy gathering of Disney villains!

Colorful Halloween and candy-themed projections featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy light up Cinderella Castle, with fireworks sparkles in the background.

This fireworks show is truly spectacular; the projections onto the castle are visually stunning and full of excitement, with nods to some classic Disney short films and feature-length pictures. One of my favorite parts was seeing a rendition of the classic Halloween short, Skeleton Dance; there’s one part where the whole castle turns into a bunch of dancing skeletons. It made me extra excited when they also started dancing along to “Step in Time” from Mary Poppins – one of my favorite Disney movies!

At various times throughout the evening, guests can also see the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular show on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle. In this evening show, the mischievous Sanderson Sisters return to the mortal world for one night during the Halloween season. They’re looking to cast a spell over all of Magic Kingdom. With only a few hours to run amuck, the three sisters decide to use their magic to throw the best, most evil Halloween party on this side of the graveyard!

The Sanderson Sisters perform on stage. Mary has dark hair twirled upward and is wearing a red cloak, Winifred has red curly hair and a green cloak, and Sarah has long blonde hair and a purple cloak. There is purple and pink lighting 2 candelabras glow in the background.

Maleficent, the Evil Queen, the Sanderson Sisters, and Dr. Facilier perform on stage with an ensemble of dancers in front of Cinderella Castle. The castle has spooky candle projections on it and fog rolls over the stage which is illuminated with pink and purple lighting effects.

Among their hilarious hijinks, the Sanderson sisters turn to some infamous Disney villains to help them gather what’s needed for their magic potion. Making appearances during this show are Dr Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent, along with some other mischievous villains. Once the Sanderson Sisters have gotten all the materials needed for their spell, they finish the show with a fan-favorite tune, “I Put a Spell on You,” from Hocus Pocus as they cast their spell. This is such a fun show, and seeing the Sanderson Sisters in person was a sight to behold. I would definitely recommend ending the night with this show, as it is the cherry on top of a frightfully fun evening.
