Beautiful New Shades of Rustic: Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge gets a Refurbishment
Greetings and salutations, my fellow travelers! You know, if there’s one thing better than staying at a beautiful DVC resort, it’s staying at a beautiful DVC resort that’s just gotten a refurbishment. New furnishings, updated theming, and new décor can make a huge difference and make an old favorite feel new again.
The rooms at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge recently got a bit of a makeover, so let’s take a tour and look at some of the changes.
The overall color scheme is much lighter and airier than before, with the earth tones replaced with a lighter paint job and new wallpaper behind the television and pull-down bunk bed.
Speaking of the pull-down bunk bed, it has some new art featuring Chip and Dale, and the furnishings overall are lighter looking than the dark stained wood look of before.
The carpet and dark wood laminate in the studios have been replaced with lighter laminate flooring throughout, along with smaller area rugs.
In the one-bedroom villas, there’s new wallpaper and carpet in the main bedroom and new laminate flooring throughout the rest of the villa.
All of the rooms also have new curtains, new chairs, and new artwork on the walls.
The bathrooms have also gotten a makeover with new colors and new mirrors. The one-bedroom villas have the biggest changes, with the full shower now having floor-to-ceiling frosted glass instead of the tiled half-wall and a brand-new bathtub.
The kitchens in the one-bedroom villas also have a new look, including a new seating area, countertops, and cabinets.
The big change I particularly love is the replacement of the sofa beds with the new pull-down beds. These have already been added to several DVC resorts, and I cannot recommend them enough. I got to try one at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa last year, and they are incredibly comfortable, and since they’re lower to the ground than the regular Queen beds, they are easier to get in and out of.
Overall, the new look is less woodsy than before, but it’s much brighter and more inviting. It’s a great new look, and I would love to stay in one of these rooms on my next trip.
Until next time, fellow travelers!
