A Look at a Studio at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort
Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina was a surprising treat for me. Having never stayed here, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I know Disney does it right when it comes to all the Disney Vacation Club resorts, I just wasn’t sure how I would like staying in such a sleepy resort. Well, I’ll tell you – I loved it! Let me show you my room…
I stayed in a studio villa at the end of the building. The front door enters into the kitchen. Really, I should call it a kitchenette, but it felt like a real kitchen. It was pretty large and separated from the living area. Across from the counter area was a window facing out to the walkway and parking lot.
The kitchen amenities were the same as are in all DVC studios. It had a small fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and sink. There was more storage and counter space though. This came in handy since we were on a road trip and had lots of our own kitchen supplies and food with us.
Just past the kitchen was the closet. It had extra linens, an iron and ironing board, a crib and a safe.
Then came the bathroom, which was pretty spacious.
There was a window in the bathroom as well, which also looked out towards the parking lot. It was nice to have windows on this side of the studio for the added light and cross ventilation.
The room itself was very cozy. It had a rustic charm.
The TV was small, like the one at Vero Beach. It was in a similar dresser. Next to the dresser was the table with two chairs.
For sitting, I thought the sofa bed was one of the most comfortable ones I’ve found in any of the DVC resorts. I didn’t test it out as a bed though.
The patio doors were great. They both swung wide open, letting lots of air into the room.
And now for my favorite part of the room – the patio! I spent a lot of time in these chairs!
It was so nice and relaxing to have coffee on the patio, or a glass of wine, depending on the time of day. It was peaceful and the view was lovely.
The longer I spent at here, the more I didn’t want to leave. I was worried when I first arrived that I was going to be bored but that so was not the case. This resort made me think of summers on the lake with nothing to do but while away the hours with a good book. I can’t wait to go back!
