David’s Deferred Dreams Cancellation Policy: Here’s What You Need to Know
So, you’re looking to book your next Disney vacation and want to use David’s Vacation Club Rentals, and you’re wondering… does David’s have a cancellation policy?
The answer is a resounding YES!
I’m here to break down this policy for you so you’re familiar with all the ins and outs of renting DVC points with our service. So follow along as we cover our Deferred Dreams Cancellation Policy!
As of March 2024, we introduced this policy to allow guests some flexibility to “Defer the Dream” if you’re no longer able to attend your stay. We want to keep the magic alive, so this policy helps you rebook your stay with David’s Vacation Club Rentals using a Travel Credit for a future date.
First things first, should you choose to cancel your reservation under this policy, we’ll email you a full overview of the cancellation process and the steps needed to officially cancel, including unlinking the reservation from your online Disney account, as well as accepting the terms and conditions of the credit. Once all these steps are completed, you will receive a David’s Vacation Club Rentals Travel Credit for a percentage of your stay.
The credit value is determined by the date you accept the terms and conditions, so we recommend reaching out to cancel as soon as you know, just so the value isn’t affected. As a reminder, the credit is not a refund as all bookings are non-refundable; instead, you would receive a credit voucher so you can rebook your stay in the future. This credit is issued to the primary contact of the booking under the lead guest’s name, and cannot be transferred to another person.
As mentioned, the credit would be for a percentage of your stay, depending on when you choose to cancel. Here’s an overview below so you can see exactly what percentage is offered, and when;
These credits are good for three (3) years, so there is lots of flexibility when it comes to booking if you need more time to plan. I also want to mention that you do not have to only use this credit for DVC points rentals! We can also use the credit to book directly through Disney for you, or even use it for a cruise or an Adventure By Disney itinerary! You can also use the credits as many times as you’d like until the value is $0.00, so the possibilities are endless.
While our Deferred Dreams policy is automatically a part of your rental agreement, sometimes, the unexpected happens, and cancellations may happen last-minute. Because of this, we always recommend you consider purchasing extra travel insurance for your stay. You can always shop around, but we have a great resource here for you.
That being said, if you decide to take advantage of Deferred Dreams for a partial credit, you would not be able to file a travel insurance claim for the remainder. No double-dipping allowed!
