Holiday Décor at the DVC Resorts

It’s TIIIIMMMMMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Christmas in Disney is here, and it is in full effect for December. Not only are all the parks decorated with holiday touches, but the DVC Resorts are as well and trust me when I say you will be sure to see the most beautiful, jaw-dropping decorations one can see when you pop into these DVC resorts.

A life size gingerbread house and large Christmas tree with white lights and Victorian ornaments are displayed in the cream-colored main lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as seen from the second floor looking down.

With giant Christmas trees, moving carousels, gingerbread houses, and endless holiday touches throughout the resorts, there is Christmas in the air everywhere at Disney!

A green Christmas tree with white lights, and red and dark brown wooden ornaments along with matching garlands around the banisters are seen in the log-cabin style lobby of the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Looking at the DVC resorts around Christmas holding outstanding décor to celebrate the holiday, there are a few guest favorites. With Disney’s Copper Creek Villas and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, Jambo House knocking the Christmas trees out of the park, guests are naturally in complete awe as soon as they enter the lobby.  And let’s not forget about Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with its intricate gingerbread house, Disney’s Beach Club Villas with the carousel, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort gingerbread Cinderella Castle!

A large gingerbread version of Cinderella Castle is displayed in front of a blue, wintery background at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. To the right of the gingerbread castle is a blue sign listing the ingredients used to make the gingerbread.

These resorts have some breathtaking gingerbread and Christmas tree displays while other resorts emphasize those perfectly themed ornaments, Christmas lights, and colorful displays of garland, such as Disney’s BoardWalk Villas and Disney’s Old Key West Resort! You will find decorations throughout each DVC resort that bring the Christmas spirit alive wherever you are!

Green garland and a green Christmas tree both with multicolored ornaments decorate the pale green lobby of Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. Over the garland there is a circus elephant figure and a crystal chandelier hangs overhead.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House has an original display for the Christmas holidays. With a beautiful tree in the lobby, it is something you can’t miss when you first walk inside. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House is engulfed with thick garland, stunning ornaments, and beautiful big bows that align with the theming of the resort itself.  In previous years, they have also had a display of gingerbread showcasing the life-size baby gingerbread giraffe, Ginger, and the baby zebra, Debra, and it looks like they are back this year looking better than ever!

Gingerbread creations made to look like a baby giraffe and baby zebra are on display at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House. They are surrounded by red and white poinsettia plants.

The Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is quite the sight on its own. However, during Christmas time, it is the number one resort for me. Not only does it already have touches of the wilderness throughout the grounds, but during the winter season, you will feel like you have escaped to a cabin on a cold wintery day.

Green garlands and a wreath decorated with white lights and rustic ornaments decorate the lobby of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The wreath is set upon the large stone fireplace with rocking chairs in front of it.

For the holidays, Copper Creek is probably best known for its gigantic Christmas tree planted right smack dab in the middle of the lobby. Guests can’t miss this beautiful holiday sight as it pulls all eyes to it right when you walk through the front doors. I love the wintertime, and I LOVE Christmas trees, and this must be my absolute favorite of all! With the perfect ornaments to match the resort’s theming, it truly is the best wintertime escape that keeps the Disney and Christmas spirit alive!

A very tall green Christmas tree decorated with red, green, brown, and blue ornaments and white lights is on display in the lobby of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

With gingerbread being a big part of Disney’s Christmas displays, Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a lot of sights for you to see! The Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Castle is inspired by Cinderella Castle with over 4,000 castle gingerbread bricks made and is just waiting for you to gaze at! This castle is covered in exquisite detail with some strings of lights to glisten the tops of the towers. You’ll find tons of treats to indulge in, so be sure to look around.

a large-scale replica of Cinderella Castle made of gingerbread is displayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in front of a blue backdrop meant to look like a wintery night. The castle peaks are royal blue with tiny white lights, and to each side of the castle there are white and blue tree cutouts.

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas might not have one of the largest lobbies, but this one is beautifully decorated during the winter holidays. With funky and vibrant colored ornaments throughout this location, you can’t help but stop to look at each detail. You’ll find poinsettias alongside the ferns throughout the lobby, and through the garland, you will see that the ornaments have a circus theme! And, of course, you can’t forget the gingerbread replica of the BoardWalk Deli, as it fits perfectly with the other displays this resort has year-round!

A gingerbread replica of the BoardWalk Deli is displayed at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. Disney characters decorate the gingerbread display, and a tall Christmas tree decorated with multicolored ornaments and white lights is visible to the left of the display.

Small figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse wearing chef hats are arranged to look as though they are baking cookies inside the gingerbread BoardWalk Deli replica on display at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas.

After walking around Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, stroll over to Disney’s Beach Club Villas as they have The Beach Club Carousel up and moving! You won’t want to miss this year’s display as it is themed the 1983 Christmas Carol movie. You will see four horses displayed in the carousel, three of which represent the ghosts of time and the last one is Ebenezer Scrooge! Each horse was created in exquisite detail, along with the entire carousel itself. You will see little Mickey heads at the tops with beautiful poinsettias all around the bottom. This gingerbread display is a masterpiece that seems to get better every year!

A gingerbread carousel inspired by Disney’s cartoon version of A Christmas Carol is on display at Disney’s Beach Club Villas. The multicolored horses on the carousel are designed to represent the characters of the film, and to the left is a large Christmas tree decorated with pastel nautical-themed ornaments.

A White carousel horse made of gingerbread is meant to resemble Ebenezer Scrooge from Mickey’s Christmas Carol. The horse has a red saddle, green top hat, black-rimmed glasses, and a red and white Christmas wreath decorated with pretend dollar bills and a figurine of Scrooge McDuck as the character from the film.

When looking at Disney’s Riviera Resort, there certainly does not seem to have anything over the top for Christmas time; however, this DVC resort still has a little bit of Christmas touch to the resort! With decorations throughout the gardens and around this resort, you’ll find Christmas wreaths and tons of hanging garlands matching the calming vibe this resort brings!

A large green Christmas wreath decorated with gold, pewter, and light blue ornaments and ribbons hangs in front of a window at Disney’s Riviera Resort. The resort grounds and water can be seen in the background.

Last but not least, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa always puts on a breathtaking display of a giant gingerbread house in its main lobby. Throughout this DVC resort, you can find gorgeous Christmas décor; however, nothing tops this creation that emphasizes the astonishing talent of the pastry team! With little gingerbread shingles, Mickey heads, Christmas trees, and Santa himself, the detail in the gingerbread house is like nothing you could see anywhere else. The gingerbread window is now open, where guests can wait in line to pick up some delicious treats to take home.

Guests are seen purchasing holiday treats at the window of the life-size gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Behind the gingerbread house is a giant Christmas tree with pastel ornaments, and the gingerbread house is also surrounded by red, green, and white poinsettias.

Christmas is a favorite time of the year for me, and traveling during the holidays to experience a wintertime Disney vacation would be one for the books! It’s not just the décor that makes it Christmas time, as there are so many great things about traveling during this holiday! It’s the shows, the food, the merch, the drinks, and the absolute complete change in the atmosphere when it’s Christmas time in Disney. If you haven’t experienced it yet, give it a try! I am more than positive you won’t be disappointed!

A green Christmas tree with frontier-style ornaments like a wooden horse and wagon wheel is seen outside under sunny skies at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. To the right of the tree, resort grounds with a wooden bench and playground can be seen in the distance.
