Holiday Décor at the DVC Resorts
It’s TIIIIMMMMMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Christmas in Disney is here, and it is in full effect for December. Not only are all the parks decorated with holiday touches, but the DVC Resorts are as well and trust me when I say you will be sure to see the most beautiful, jaw-dropping decorations one can see when you pop into these DVC resorts.
With giant Christmas trees, moving carousels, gingerbread houses, and endless holiday touches throughout the resorts, there is Christmas in the air everywhere at Disney!
Looking at the DVC resorts around Christmas holding outstanding décor to celebrate the holiday, there are a few guest favorites. With Disney’s Copper Creek Villas and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, Jambo House knocking the Christmas trees out of the park, guests are naturally in complete awe as soon as they enter the lobby. And let’s not forget about Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with its intricate gingerbread house, Disney’s Beach Club Villas with the carousel, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort gingerbread Cinderella Castle!
These resorts have some breathtaking gingerbread and Christmas tree displays while other resorts emphasize those perfectly themed ornaments, Christmas lights, and colorful displays of garland, such as Disney’s BoardWalk Villas and Disney’s Old Key West Resort! You will find decorations throughout each DVC resort that bring the Christmas spirit alive wherever you are!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House has an original display for the Christmas holidays. With a beautiful tree in the lobby, it is something you can’t miss when you first walk inside. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Jambo House is engulfed with thick garland, stunning ornaments, and beautiful big bows that align with the theming of the resort itself. In previous years, they have also had a display of gingerbread showcasing the life-size baby gingerbread giraffe, Ginger, and the baby zebra, Debra, and it looks like they are back this year looking better than ever!
The Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is quite the sight on its own. However, during Christmas time, it is the number one resort for me. Not only does it already have touches of the wilderness throughout the grounds, but during the winter season, you will feel like you have escaped to a cabin on a cold wintery day.
For the holidays, Copper Creek is probably best known for its gigantic Christmas tree planted right smack dab in the middle of the lobby. Guests can’t miss this beautiful holiday sight as it pulls all eyes to it right when you walk through the front doors. I love the wintertime, and I LOVE Christmas trees, and this must be my absolute favorite of all! With the perfect ornaments to match the resort’s theming, it truly is the best wintertime escape that keeps the Disney and Christmas spirit alive!
With gingerbread being a big part of Disney’s Christmas displays, Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a lot of sights for you to see! The Contemporary Resort Gingerbread Castle is inspired by Cinderella Castle with over 4,000 castle gingerbread bricks made and is just waiting for you to gaze at! This castle is covered in exquisite detail with some strings of lights to glisten the tops of the towers. You’ll find tons of treats to indulge in, so be sure to look around.
Disney’s BoardWalk Villas might not have one of the largest lobbies, but this one is beautifully decorated during the winter holidays. With funky and vibrant colored ornaments throughout this location, you can’t help but stop to look at each detail. You’ll find poinsettias alongside the ferns throughout the lobby, and through the garland, you will see that the ornaments have a circus theme! And, of course, you can’t forget the gingerbread replica of the BoardWalk Deli, as it fits perfectly with the other displays this resort has year-round!
After walking around Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, stroll over to Disney’s Beach Club Villas as they have The Beach Club Carousel up and moving! You won’t want to miss this year’s display as it is themed the 1983 Christmas Carol movie. You will see four horses displayed in the carousel, three of which represent the ghosts of time and the last one is Ebenezer Scrooge! Each horse was created in exquisite detail, along with the entire carousel itself. You will see little Mickey heads at the tops with beautiful poinsettias all around the bottom. This gingerbread display is a masterpiece that seems to get better every year!
When looking at Disney’s Riviera Resort, there certainly does not seem to have anything over the top for Christmas time; however, this DVC resort still has a little bit of Christmas touch to the resort! With decorations throughout the gardens and around this resort, you’ll find Christmas wreaths and tons of hanging garlands matching the calming vibe this resort brings!
Last but not least, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa always puts on a breathtaking display of a giant gingerbread house in its main lobby. Throughout this DVC resort, you can find gorgeous Christmas décor; however, nothing tops this creation that emphasizes the astonishing talent of the pastry team! With little gingerbread shingles, Mickey heads, Christmas trees, and Santa himself, the detail in the gingerbread house is like nothing you could see anywhere else. The gingerbread window is now open, where guests can wait in line to pick up some delicious treats to take home.
Christmas is a favorite time of the year for me, and traveling during the holidays to experience a wintertime Disney vacation would be one for the books! It’s not just the décor that makes it Christmas time, as there are so many great things about traveling during this holiday! It’s the shows, the food, the merch, the drinks, and the absolute complete change in the atmosphere when it’s Christmas time in Disney. If you haven’t experienced it yet, give it a try! I am more than positive you won’t be disappointed!
