Beautiful New Shades of Rustic: Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge gets a Refurbishment

Greetings and salutations, my fellow travelers! You know, if there’s one thing better than staying at a beautiful DVC resort, it’s staying at a beautiful DVC resort that’s just gotten a refurbishment. New furnishings, updated theming, and new décor can make a huge difference and make an old favorite feel new again.

Studio at Disney’s Boulder Ridge Villas. A queen-sized bed with white linens and a red patterned couch sit in the room. A dark wood chest sits in front of the couch. The room is bright yet has rustic touches.

The rooms at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge recently got a bit of a makeover, so let’s take a tour and look at some of the changes.

Wooden console underneath TV where the Pull-down bunk is stored. There is a dark green, black, and mauve-colored piece of forest artwork on the front of the wood.

The overall color scheme is much lighter and airier than before, with the earth tones replaced with a lighter paint job and new wallpaper behind the television and pull-down bunk bed.

Wooden bed frame with colorful cushions built into the frame. There are white lamps mounted on either side of the bed frame. There is a large orange and white print of a geyser on the wall, with the words “Geyser Point, Erupts at 12 O’Clock” written at the bottom.

Speaking of the pull-down bunk bed, it has some new art featuring Chip and Dale, and the furnishings overall are lighter looking than the dark stained wood look of before.

A down bunk is pulled out from a wooden console. Painted behind the bed is a mural of Chip and Dale sleeping on acorns in a cave.

The carpet and dark wood laminate in the studios have been replaced with lighter laminate flooring throughout, along with smaller area rugs.

Living Room in the Boulder Ridge One Bedroom. There is a large gray couch and stool with a dark green and red chest sitting in front of it. A tribal pattern carpet sits on the dark hardwood floors, and behind the couch hangs a mural of Mickey Mouse and Pluto going hunting.

In the one-bedroom villas, there’s new wallpaper and carpet in the main bedroom and new laminate flooring throughout the rest of the villa.

Main Bedroom in the Boulder Ridge One Bedroom. A king-sized bed covered in white linens sits in the middle of the room. There are two wooden side tables on either side of the bed that match the bed frame. The floor has brown and white carpet and a light-colored patterned wallpaper behind the bed.

All of the rooms also have new curtains, new chairs, and new artwork on the walls.

Stand-up shower with frosted glass and black trim. A wooden vanity with a white sink sits next to the shower. There is a mirror mounted over the vanity.

A large white porcelain tub. Painted behind the tub is a mural of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse kayaking down a river with a forest on either side.

The bathrooms have also gotten a makeover with new colors and new mirrors. The one-bedroom villas have the biggest changes, with the full shower now having floor-to-ceiling frosted glass instead of the tiled half-wall and a brand-new bathtub.

Living Room and Dining Room in the Boulder Ridge One Bedroom. The gray couch is on one side of the photo, and a dark gran set of cabinets lines the other side. You can see cupboards and the dining room table in the back.

The kitchens in the one-bedroom villas also have a new look, including a new seating area, countertops, and cabinets.

White oval-shaped dining room table. Two brown chairs sit on either end, and a yellow couch sits behind the table. Four prints are mounted above the yellow couch of forest and mountain-themed landscapes.

The big change I particularly love is the replacement of the sofa beds with the new pull-down beds. These have already been added to several DVC resorts, and I cannot recommend them enough. I got to try one at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa last year, and they are incredibly comfortable, and since they’re lower to the ground than the regular Queen beds, they are easier to get in and out of.

Pull down bed in the Studio pulled down. The Large bed frame is made of wood, and there is a painting above the bed of Huey, Dewey, and Louis sleeping under a tent. The queen-sized bed is next to the pull-down bed.

Overall, the new look is less woodsy than before, but it’s much brighter and more inviting. It’s a great new look, and I would love to stay in one of these rooms on my next trip.

Until next time, fellow travelers!
