Sleeping Near The Savanna – My Top 5 Reasons to Stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
All DVC Resorts have things that make them unique. Whether it’s a fantastic pool, unique transportation options, or delicious food choices, every DVC Resort offers something that makes them stand out! One of my favorite DVC Resorts I’ve ever stayed at is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, and I thought I would share the Top five reasons I loved staying here and why I would recommend it to guests for future stays!
1. Theming
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is beautiful! Entering the building, you immediately feel the warmth this resort conveys. For me it’s as though I’m stepping out of Florida and into Africa, which is felt by the beautiful colors used in the resort, as well as the collection of African art!
While Disney makes sure every resort feels immersive, this resort excels at it. The resort is designed so that it makes me forget about everything other than the resort. Once in the rooms, dark woods and warm-toned colors welcome guests to relax and take in the beauty of the resort. It really is unlike any other resort found at Walt Disney World.
2. Two Resorts in One
A unique thing about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is that you essentially get the benefits of two DVC Resorts while staying here! Since Kidani Village and Jambo House are separate buildings, they each have their own restaurants and resort amenities. However, when staying at Kidani Village, you can access all of the amenities at your own building as well as Jambo House! This is the same for guests staying at Jambo House, who get access to all Kidani Village has to offer.
That means you get access to two feature pools, two gift shops, and almost ten dining or lounge options!
3. The Savanna
The real draw for people staying at Kidani Village is the savanna. This resort offers amazing views of lush savannas that feature over 30 species of African wildlife roaming freely!
Not much can compare to waking up to the view of a giraffe or zebra from your balcony as you sip your morning coffee. What is even better is even if you do not have a savanna view room, you can see the savanna from several outlooks around the resort!
There are even spots around the resort where Cast Members are available to provide information about the animals roaming around. My favorite savanna viewing spot is from the campfire, so make sure to stop by there on your next trip to this resort!
4. Sanaa
Being a foodie, having a good food option at my resort is important when I travel. My favorite dining option at Kidani Village, and all of Walt Disney World, is Sanaa! The restaurant is inspired by beautiful East-African markets, colorfully decorated under the gorgeous branches of a tree. The windows of this restaurant also look out onto the savanna, giving almost every table in the restaurant a view of the animals roaming outside!
You can start your day with Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast, a casual, quick service option with a delicious African twist on your favorite breakfast items. However, lunch and dinner are the best! The cuisine is based on African and Indian styles and flavors, resulting in a delicious fusion that is not to be missed. While everything I have had here is amazing, you have to try the Indian-style Bread Service! Five different breads are accompanied by nine dips and spreads to sample, making it the perfect starter to share!

5. Uwanja Camp
While the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village is beautiful, the water play area, Uwanja Camp, stands out from all other DVC Resorts! Uwanja Camp has three different areas for kids to enjoy!
Themed like a cargo base, each section is catered to a different age group, allowing them to splash and play in a huge area, with parents watching nearby! As someone who does not travel with kids very often, even I am amazed by how incredibly fun they have made this water playground!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is a resort definitely worth checking out, as you can see from the gorgeous photos! If you have not yet had the chance to visit for a stay or even for a meal, I would suggest adding this resort to your Disney bucket list!
