Disney with a lot of Harmony

Disney tales are known around the world for their beautiful love stories, destructive villains, unyielding heroes, and their adventurous youth. Yet, with these tales, come some of the greatest sounds of music, that years of generations have had the privilege of listening to and associating with some of their most adored memories with family and friends.

When you hear a Disney song, what age do you think back to?

Disney was a very big part of my childhood, so it’s safe to say I go immediately back to a young age. However, I can honestly say Disney has been a huge part of my entire life, and even now, as an adult, Disney still seems to provide us with the brand-new instant classic songs that we can never seem to get out of our heads… All I can seem to do is just… Let it go!!

Disney parks, restaurants, shops, resorts, and even transportation methods have you singing and enjoying the sing-a-long style right from the very beginning of your vacation.

Once you have arrived at the Orlando airport and board the Magical Express, the nostalgic music has just begun. Usually, the signature song that starts you off right is Happily Ever After, which can also make you immediately reminisce about the beautiful Happily Ever After fireworks show that holds a special place in my heart.

Magic Kingdom begins with its walkway down Main Street U.S.A. with its New England and Missouri inspired sound, fitting in with the 20th-century American town scenery. Once you have made it through Main Street, your options of sing-a-longs and music engagements are endless.

If you need to take a rest and cool off indoors, you can do this while still living your best Disney life! Some good ol’ fashioned fun at the Country Bear Jamboree, a sing-a-long with Ariel under the sea, or making some music down at Mickey’s Philharmagic is a great way to connect through the sounds of Disney.

At the end of the day, you can enjoy some entertainment down at Cosmic’s Ray, and I think his jams are always good.

Epcot has various sounds throughout the park, as it only takes a few hours to walk around the world and soak up all the different cultural musical talent you can find.

This park is great for its live performances, which you can hear throughout the day. These performances always seem to be very interactive and really emphasize the music in its culture.

Animal Kingdom is an option I find that doesn’t have that hustle and bustle of Disney parades and nostalgic music pumping through the park. However, it does have the relaxing and calming sounds you might hear in a jungle, the sound of bursting waterfalls, and the soothing country background cricket hum. These sounds play a big part in the theming of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This park also has sounds and live performances of cultural gatherings in each land located in the Animal Kingdom.

Hollywood Studios has a lot of musical options for you to get interactive. From traveling to Planet Batuu and being completely engaged with the architecture; yet, this world would not have the full effect without the essence of sound, which will immediately send you into another atmosphere.

Toy Story Land has lots to offer and does not disappoint! You can be singing your way through this land, finding lots of friends along the way.

Hollywood Studios also has some classic shows for guests to sit down and enjoy, with some dearly loved characters that will have you singing along with them right from the beginning of the show.

When making your way to the different parks, you will find lots of entertainment options for you and your family to enjoy. One of my favorites happens about mid-day and truly brings the sound to the pathways of the Magic Kingdom. If you enjoy Disney tunes with a cool swing to things, Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade is a great way for you to relax with a great big pretzel, nice juicy bacon skewer, or cooling classic Dole Whip, while singing along and enjoying a much-deserved nod off to the some of the classic Disney stories and jams that we have all come to love. In this parade, you will get to sing along with The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, as well as many others. Although parades are currently on hold as Disney begins to reopen, I look forward to the time when they’re back, and guests can experience the same excitement I have when watching the Festival of Fantasy!

Now when it comes to Disney Resorts, they are themed right down to the little details, including the sound. Whichever resort is your favorite or your dream, you will find that once you’ve stayed there, certain songs or sounds will bring you back to your stay and the memories made. You can hear a fun but relaxing Luau jingle when entering the lobby at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows making you feel like you have just hit a faraway island and are ready to kick back.

Or, you could be staying at the Wilderness Lodge, and even though there’s no definition of music for the wilderness, they have a beautiful fireplace, which gives the sound of a fire crackling along with a lovely mini-bridge over a stream which connects to the outdoor waterfall, creating a trickling sound, engulfing you into the feeling of the wild.

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of staying at Old Key West. If you have stayed here, you will understand when I say it truly feels like you are home, and if you haven’t had the pleasure of staying there, I recommend it” I’d now one of my top favorites. This resort was the first DVC resort, and the music loop for this resort is music I was raised on. From some reggae to some Jimmy Cliff, you get a variety of that relaxing vibe. Now that I’ve returned home and I hear those songs, it brings me back to that memory of Disney.

Last but not least, a location worth mentioning for a fantastic night out would be Disney Springs. Someone who has never been to Disney might get the impression that most of the entertainment you will find located on Disney property is for children, and if your one of those people, think again! Disney Springs is a great option to have a fun night out with live bands and dance parties. The Marketplace Stage in Disney Springs has live performances and special events happening all day, and at night they throw a few DJ’s on stage and get the party started! Of course, as we all know Disney’s classic rule of having to be home by midnight when the magic ends, you can recharge by making your way back to your resort and hit up the Springs the next night for some amazing live talent while you enjoy a delicious meal.

Yes, Disney’s sound is endless and will continue to grow as we grow old, and our children grow up. I can think of no better way to share memories than with music to sing-along and enjoy together. The amount of times you can break out into song on a Disney vacation is impossible to count, and can only be enjoyed when you have fully thrown yourself into full Disney character.

I’d say the one main thing that connects me to Disney and somehow makes my worries disappear is the songs that tie into our favorite childhood movies, and the moment I start to sing, I can never seem to stop. Disney offers a whole new world with its music, and I can only imagine what is in store for the future of sing-a-longs. I will be ready to and willing to learn every word and belt it out from the bottom of my lungs!
